Raising children really does take a village.
If you're looking to add more support to your village, I'm here to help.

My philosophy

My parenting philosophy is based in the principles of conscious, positive, and peaceful parenting. The coaching that I offer is parent-centric, rather than child centric; meaning that we do not focus on modifying children's behavior. I believe that children’s behavior is a direct reflection of their needs (met or unmet) and our triggers (expressed consciously or unconsciously). I work with parents to help them gain tools of self-awareness, communication and connection so that they can look beneath their children's behaviors and create a safe space for intrinsic motivation and positive outcomes.

My mission

By providing guidance, education, and accountability, my mission is to support parents in learning more about themselves and their beliefs, reframing challenges, and developing strategies so they can find confidence in their parenting and joy in their families.

Testimonials

"Emily has been an incredible resource for us in navigating the hardest challenges of being a parent. The course she teaches should be mandatory reading material for every parent and her added insights and advice were invaluable. We learned about the science behind the gentle parenting movement. She helped us understand how our backgrounds influence the parents that we are. But where Emily made the biggest impact on us was teaching us how to apply the concepts to real-world situations. Over the duration of the course, we had a number of difficult situations with our daughter. After discussing each with Emily, we agreed on an approach, confidently applied it, and saw amazing results. We can't recommend Emily enough to anyone looking to grow as a parent and improve all of their relationships."

Transformational Parenting Course

"There are so many moments in parenting where I felt like I just didn’t know what to do. That I wanted to do the right thing, wondered what the right thing was, and felt this pressure to be the best mom I could possibly be. I would search the internet trying to find the answers and end up feeling even more overwhelmed and tired. After working with Emily, it felt like I shifted into a whole new gear. I felt understood, validated, supported, and most importantly empowered. Everyday parenting is always something new, but after working with Emily and gaining strategies and new perspectives, I feel more confident as a mom and my ability to figure out what’s “right” for me and my family. I feel fortunate to have worked with Emily as the experience has positively shaped me personally and benefited my entire family."

1:1 Coaching

"The course material is so thought provoking and helped me think about how I parent in a really easy to digest way. Everything I learned felt inline with my own parenting aspirations, but the combination of the lesson videos, workbooks, and 1:1 sessions enabled me to go much deeper into my own self-awareness; going from 'this is how I want to parent' to 'this is how I parent'. Additionally, as a coach, Emily is made to do this. No matter what parenting scenarios I brought to our 1:1 sessions, even if it wasn't part of the course material, Emily knew how to break it down and help me get to the core of the issue and supported me in finding solutions. It was really really cool to go through this program and see how I've grown both as a parent, and as an individual."

"As a new parent, Emily guided me through the transition from raising a baby to raising a toddler. She helped me reframe and retrain my actions to better suit my daughter’s needs. She has a genuine and natural ability to parent and teach, and her personal care and zero judgement attitude made it easy and comfortable to learn with an open mind. All this has led me to be a better mother, and in turn, raising a happier daughter! Thank you!"

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if your coaching methodology is right for me?

My coaching methodology is based on nonviolent communication, emotional intelligence, brain science, conscious communication and empathy. I work best with parents who are looking for more peace, connection, and joy in their home; parents who are looking to move away from yelling, time-outs, power struggles, and punishments.

If you are unsure if my coaching would be a good fit for you, you can schedule a free 30 minute consultation. Above all, my coaching is judgement-free. I would love to discuss any struggles you are experiences and how I might be able to support you.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapy is a healing profession, focused on the past and meant to support mental health challenges. Coaching looks to the future, supporting people to create intention and vision, and then follow through with action and commitment. When there is unresolved childhood trauma, or mental health needs, I refer out to licensed mental health professionals.

Why should I work with a coach instead of reading a parenting book or taking a pre-recorded online course?

There are so many great resources available today. Oftentimes, parents know the concepts taught in other courses or books but have a hard time implementing them. Working with a coach gives you the opportunity to focus on and receive 1:1 real-time support directly relating to your specific needs and goals.

Do you work with parents of children of all ages?

Yes! While I personally only have experience up to the toddler stage - and love working with parents of toddlers, the principles that I teach are applicable and impactful for parents with children of any age, even parents of adult children!
